Breaking News

January 18, 2004 : Solutions to the exam questions are available.
December 9, 2004 : There will be a Question&Answer session before the exam, on Friday, January 14, 9:00-10:00, room 2A56 (this is auditorium 3!). Submit questions to wasowski@itu.dk. All are welcome.
November 2, 2004 : Major Week Assignment 2 is available.
October 25, 2004 : In view of the lecture falling short of the plan, the reading material and the collection of exercises for Episode 9 have been amended.
October 3, 2004 : The final plan for Episode 6 is finally published. Apologies for the delay.
September 27, 2004 : The plan for Episode 5 has been updated post factum (after the lecture), to contain several easy (H)-class exercises on induction and trees. No other changes have been introduced.
September 21, 2004 : Supplementary handout on Recurrent Problems is available from the course's pigeon hole. Any leftovers will be distributed during Episode 5.
September 20, 2004 : Handout on recursion and induction has been distributed in hardcopies during the lecture. If you missed it, please get your copy from the course's pigeon hole. The handout will be used in Episode 5.
September 20, 2004 : The qualifying interval for exam entry has been widened to [-4;0]. Celebrate!
September 15, 2004 : Major Week Assignment 1 is posted on the web. Check Episode 4 plan and set off to work! Mind the deadlines.

You are welcome with any problems, concerns, questions etc. regarding the contents, organization, style etc. of the course including exercises. The teacher lecturing on Monday of a given week would tend to be available at the office hour in the same week, although you are also welcome to contact the teacher of your choice any time you can catch him.

Newsgroup

Please post questions and comments to the IADS newsgroup (it-c.courses.IADS) so that others may answer your questions and/or share your insights. Feel free to answer each other's questions and comment on messages. The newsgroup is our discussion forum. Sending and receiving news messages is very similar to sending and receiving e-mails. You can use mozilla, the standard mail&news client at ITU, to read the newsgroups. Ask SysAdm if you need help setting up your software for reading news. There is also this information about newsgroups, available from SysAdm.

Assignments

Now, here, you see, it takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place.

Mandatory assignments earn students points towards eligibility for admission to the exam. The timely and perfectly completed assigment gives you zero points. A missing or unsatisfactorily completed ordinary weekly assignment is worth minus one point. It is entirely possible for an assignment to be awarded a fractional number of points. Either of the Grand Week Assignments can earn you up to minus three points. In order to be admitted to the exam, a student's grand total of points earned must fall within the interval [-4, 0].
