Each year, The IT University of Copenhagen identifies two exceptional research contributions from the researchers. The contributions selected embody the research strategy of the university by being motivated by both a search for fundamental insight and by considerations of use.

The researchers at The IT University have very different perspectives on IT, and this is reflected in the chosen contributions. Very different topics such as computer scientific struggle for fewer software errors and anthropological research of online computer games have been chosen earlier.

The chosen researchers have all done research of an unusually high quality, and they have contributed with groundbreaking new knowledge on IT.
