The special session Multimedia Analytics: Perspectives, Techniques and Applications (MAPTA) was held during the 25th MultiMedia Modeling conference (MMM 2019) in Thessaloniki, Greece, on January 9, 2019. The session was chaired by Benoit Huet.
Five high-quality submissions were accepted to the special session from 12 submissions tagged to the special session. In the first half of the session, each presenter was given 8 minutes to present the main ideas of the paper. In the remainder of the session, we hosted a panel with questions from the audience and the session chair. In this manner, we invited discussions and debates that can potentially increase the understanding of the participants (speakers, organizers and audience) of this new and exciting field.
