• Aug 2004 ESC/Java2: Uniting ESC/Java and JML: Progress and issues in building and using ESC/Java2 and a report on a case study involving the use of ESC/Java2 to verify portions of an Internet voting tally system with David Cok accepted for the special proceedings of CASSIS 2004.
• 18 July 2004 A short paper entitled Electronic and Internet Voting in The Netherlands is now available.
• July 2004 Three sets of slides (two presented at ECOOP) and a booklet of homework exercises for learning JML and ESC/Java2 are now online via the web page for the ECOOP 2004 tutorial Design by Contract and Automatic Verification for Java with JML and ESC/Java2, presented in Oslo, Norway.
• 19 June 2004 ESC/Java 2.0a7 released. This is the eighth (alpha) release of the new ESC/Java2.
• 1Q 2004 Co-author of the KOA Vote Counting System, with Engelbert Hubbers and Martijn Oostdijk. This system is the primary vote count system for the KOA system and is used the European Elections beginning in June, 2004. This system was written in Java and specified in JML (by all three authors), and verified using ESC/Java2 (by me) and tested with other JML-based tools (by me).
• 4Q 2003 Project lead on network and external security evaluation of KOA, the remote voting system developed by the Dutch government. Authored original report Beveiligingsanalyse van Internetstembureau.nl, the primary third-party security analysis of Internet voting used in the European Elections beginning in 2004.
• May 2004 Semantic Properties for Lightweight Specification in Knowledgeable Development Environments published as NIII technical report R0420.
• May 2004 Kind Theory and Software Reuse published as NIII technical report R0419.
• May 2004 ESC/Java2: Uniting ESC/Java and JML: Progress and issues in building and using ESC/Java2 with David Cok published as NIII technical report R0413.
• May 2004 I'm running a tutorial at ECOOP with Erik Poll and David Cok:
  Design by Contract and Automatic Verification for Java with JML and ESC/Java2
• 29 March 2004 ESC/Java 2.0a6 released. This is the seventh (alpha) release of the new ESC/Java 2.
• February 2004 New paper: Kind Theory and Software Reuse.
• February 2004 New paper: ESC/Java2: Uniting ESC/Java and JML: Progress and issues in building and using ESC/Java2 with David Cok.
• December 2003-February 2004 Formalizing the User's Context to Support User Interfaces for Integrated Mathematical Environments for an ENTCS special issue relating to UITP 2003.

• 30 December 2003 ESC/Java 2.0a5 released. This is the sixth (alpha) release of the new ESC/Java 2.
• 22 December 2003 ESC/Java 2.0a4 released. This is the fifth (alpha) release of the new ESC/Java 2 and the first to support Windows.
• 19 November 2003 ESC/Java 2.0a3 released. This is the fourth (alpha) release of the new ESC/Java 2.
• 18 September 2003 ESC/Java 2.0a1 released! This is the second (alpha) release of the new ESC/Java 2 which understands the full JML language.
• 5 September 2003 ESC/Java 2.0a0 released! This is the first (alpha) release of the new ESC/Java 2 which understands the full JML language.
• August 2003 Nijhack-13-08-03 released. Nijhack is just a convenience merge of Nethack 3.4.0, glhack 1.1, and nethack-el-20020912 that we play here at Nijmegen. This package is configured so that you can build a nethack version that supports all of the following UIs with one executable: TTY, X11, Qt, Gnome, elisp, SDL, and GL. • August 2003 Kind Theory and Distributed Knowledge Capture. Presented at the Workshop on Distributed Knowledge Capture at K-CAP'03.
