remark 68952 : The same enthusiasm can although sometimes get a little too much at times, which can result in a "monologue/one-way" based teaching...Although the teacher admits to this, again due to his enthusiasm and academic knowledge. However, this is not so much a critique of the teacher as of the students, because I am very sure that if the students got a little more engaged in the discussions in class, the teacher would let them talk.

remark 68951 : I have never taken a class at ITU with this level of engagement from the teacher - it is not something I disapprove of, however I don´t think the general student at ITU is used to this kind of intensive teaching with one exercise after the other throughout the entire day. You may have a normal class at ITU with a couple of exercises at the end of the day, but in this class it starts right away, which obviously requires a high level of engagement/commitment from the students in order to function.

Overall, I am encouraged by the positive comments and constructive criticisms. For the Spring 2010 offering of this course, I will incorporate the following changes:

1. Optimize the number of in-class exercises and devote more time for them during class.

2. Add theoretical overview papers for the each of the special topics

3. Devote class time for student project development and formative feedback

4. Slow the talking and slide transition speeds.

5. Challenge the students more during the in-class discussions.
