Opsætning af eduroam i Linux direkte via wpa_supplican t (eksempel til
wiki'en)
Snakkede med en fra IT afdelingen og aftalte at sende
konfigurationsopsætningen til 'eduroam' netværket såfremt man gør direkte
brug af wpa_supplicant som er det underliggende lag der giver adgang til
diverse afarter af WPA/WPA2 netværk i linux.

(Dette er i virkeligheden hvad den grafiske gnome-network-manager også
bruger!)

Brug af ITU's eduroam netværk i via wpa_supplicant i Linux:


Det nederste lag til håndtering af WPA/WPA2 netværk i Linux hedder
wpa_supplicant og det er denne service som mange netværksværktøjer bygger
ovenpå. Såfremt du ønsker at forbinde til eduroam direkte via terminalen
eller benytter netværksværktøjer så som Arch's 'netcfg' der delegerer
arbejdet ned til wpa_supplicant skal du selv skrive en konfigurationsfil
dertil således wpa_supplicant ved hvorledes den skal forbinde sig til
'eduroam'.

Følgende er et eksempel på hvordan '/etc/wpa_supplicant.conf' kan se ud:

Følgende er et eksempel på hvorledes man kan forbinde sig direkte via
terminalen i linux (i eksemplet antages 'wlan0' at være ens wireless
interface, disse kan findes ved at skrive 'iwconfig'):
ifconfig wlan0 up
wpa_supplicant -iwlan0 -B -Dwext -c/etc/wpa_supplicant.conf

først bringes interfacet op, dernæst startes wpa_supplicant. -i fortæller
hvilket interface vi ønsker at bruge, -B får wpa_supplicant til at køre i
baggrunden, -D angiver hvilken driver vi ønsker at bruge (wext virker for
stort set alle) og -c angiver hvilken konfigurationsfil vi ønsker at
bruge.

Som ovenstående viser kan man gemme konfigurationsfilen andetsteds hvis
man vil.
