John Paulin Hansen, Head of Group

John Paulin Hansen, is an Associate Professor at the IT University of Copenhagen. He received a MSc in 1984 and a PhD in 1992 both in Psychology from Institute of Psychology, University of Aarhus.

His research areas are human factors, cognitive modelling and gaze-based interaction. John Paulin Hansen has used eye tracking technology for usability studies for more than 15 years and is currently project leader of the Eye Gaze Research Team at the IT University of Copenhagen, designing and managing the development of gaze-based communication systems for disabled people. This group has published more than 40 papers within the last four years.
He initiated and is co-organizing the IST EU Sixth framework programme “Communication by Gaze Interaction” (COGAIN), 2004 - 2009, with more than 100 researchers from all over the world.
