Practical information

Welcome to the CTCS’04 conference and summer school at the IT University in Copenhagen. We have been looking very much forward to seeing you at this first major event in our brand new university building (we moved in on July 1st.).

All summer school lectures and the 3rd workshop on Categorical Methods for Concurrency, Interaction and Mobility (CMCIM 2004) will take place in auditorium 3, whereas conference events will take place in auditorium 2. Both auditoriums are equipped with 4 blackboards and 2 projectors. Coffees are served in the hallway outside the auditorium and lunches are served in the ITU canteen.

Additional proceedings can be bought in the reception (DKK 50).

You are free to use all computers installed in room 2A.52. Login/password to access the internet will be available at the conference. Please do not unplug any of the computers to connect your own.

The ITU WLAN is not completely installed yet, but you should be able to log on in the area around the two auditoriums. If your computer doesn’t connect automatically: the network identity Essid is opennet.

ITU will be closed every day ½ hour after the last event has taken place. After this you will not be able to enter the building any more. You will of course still be able to exit it.

If you use public transport we recommend that you buy a punch card that allows you 10 rides on the bus/metro/subway (valid for 1 hour) – that is much cheaper than buying separate tickets. You can buy the card in the airport, at the central train station or in one of the tobacconists around town. You need a blue punch card (2 zones) to travel between your hotel/hostel and the ITU. To validate it, you must remember to punch the card when entering the bus or before entering the metro/subway.

Please do not hesitate to contact either of us if you have any practical problems. Thomas and Carsten will be attending both the summer school and the conference, whereas Annette can be reached either by email (ahk@itu.dk), by phone (72185281) or you can pass by her office (4C.13).

We wish you an enjoyable stay in Copenhagen and at the CTCS’04 conference and summer school.

Best regards,
