Atletik |
Athletic Challenge Game Maker version 5.3 "Athletic Challenge" is a multiplayer athletic sport performance game, where the players are able to compete in 8 realistic disciplines from the track and field categories (Only the 100 meters sprint are completed in the demo version). The disciplines are: Track: 100 meters, 110 m hurdles, 200 meters. Field: Long jump, pole vault, javelin, short put, discus. The concept is thought of as an Arcade machine where the players control their athletes through a so called dance mat, which transmit the physical efforts on the mat to a virtual sports performance on the screen. The players "real time" performance is therefore decisive for the outcome of the game. We thereby challenge the traditional way of gaming which is thought of as a sedentary activity. By letting the players use their own body as a controller we think Athletic Challenge facilitate "play" rather than "game" and makes the game experience more realistic.
