Rune Møller Jensen

Rune Møller Jensen holds a PhD from the Computer Science Department of Carnegie Mellon University. He was hired at the Information Technology University of Copenhagen in 2003. Rune received the Hede Nielsen Award in 2005 for his research on combining heuristic and symbolic search. He is currently the principal investigator of two externally funded research projects on stowage planning with the world's largest container shipper A.P. Møller-Mærsk. His main area of research is industrial decision optimization systems using constraint programming, mathematical programming, automated planning, data mining, and configuration approaches. He is the founder and CEO of Optivation that provides optimization algorithms to the StowMan and XVELA stowage planning tools of NAVIS.
