In 2025, we mark 25 years of Denmark’s commitment to games by inviting everyone with an interest in games. Join us on August 26-27 to celebrate 25 years of games research and education at ITU. The event is free and open to all.

Denmark has long recognized both the cultural and economic significance of games. In 1999, the first PhD student dedicated to games was admitted to IT University of Copenhagen.

Just a year later, ITU launched Denmark’s first university-level program in game development—a visionary move that helped shape the field nationally and beyond. In 2025, we mark 25 years of Denmark’s commitment to games by inviting everyone with an interest in games—whether academic, professional, or personal—to come together, share stories, and explore ITU’s journey through a quarter-century of groundbreaking work in the field.

Join us on August 26-27 to celebrate 25 years of games research and education at the ITU. The event is free and open to all, regardless of background or prior knowledge of games or academia.
